The power of editing |
In today's world of digital technology, the door is wide open for all creative and computer savy photographers. Before, in celuloid times, a photographer's creativity was limited to the physical realities of the photoshoot, setting gel filters, adjusting lights, positioning backdrops etc. Once the picture was taken, there was very little else to do, except maybe some croping, enlarging or limited color corecting in the lab. The following examples illustrate how photos from the past, and present, can be digitally transformed and restored into modern or completley different keepsakes. These photographs demonstrate the diverse abilities of combining human artistry with graphic/ computer based programs.

| From an old wedding picture, client wanted to extract and isolate her parents. | The background image was color corrected to match the color scheme and support the feel of an old picture. Shadows to add realism, higlights to add dimentioin, and an over all restoration process to "errase" traces of the textured photo paper on the orrigional were combined to acheive this new picture.

| Client wanted to isolate her mother. | Color corrected, the missing parts of shirt and shoulder were hand painted. The entire picture was lightened with softer skin tones added to create a vibrance to the faded orrigional. Not only did the client get two new 8x10s of this picture, she also now has a high resolution negative on DVD for furture prints.
